Why we teach with for-learning companies

There is no other way of forming a habit of operation than by operating. That single idea sits at the center of how we teach.

At most schools, you acquire knowledge and hope to apply it later. At The Christian School, the curriculum is the application: students manage real companies — with real customers, suppliers, and decisions — for half of every day. The companies are for learning, so mistakes are expected and forgiven, but the stakes are real enough to matter.

That only works inside a community of shared values. Total transparency — everyone sees every company’s strategy and transactions — requires a great deal of trust and forgiveness. It’s why the model and the faith are inseparable.
